"Originally, BackTrack Linux was developed for our personal use but over the past several years, it has grown in popularity far greater than we ever imagined. We still develop BackTrack for ourselves because we use it every day. However, with growth and a huge user base, we have an obligation to ourselves, our users, and the open source community to create the best distribution we possibly can.

With this in mind, about a year ago a bunch of us at Offensive Security started thinking about the future of BackTrack and brainstormed about the features and functionality we'd like to see in the next and future revisions. One of our main topics of conversation was the option of swapping out our custom development environment for a fully fledged Debian-compliant packaging and repository system.

This seemed like a good idea at the time, but little did we know the world of hurt and pain we were getting ourselves into. This single decision concerning the future path of BackTrack brought  with it so much power and flexibility that it has changed the face of our distribution.

What's happened in the past year? We have been quietly developing the necessary infrastructure and laying the foundation for our newest penetration testing distribution as well as building over 300 Debian compliant packages and swearing in 8 different languages. These changes brought with them an incredible amount of work, research and learning but are also leading us down the path to creating the best, and most flexible, penetration testing distribution we have ever built, dubbed "Kali"."

So when is new version of BackTrack goodness hitting the internet? We wont tell, yet. After all, that *is* the definition of a "teaser". All we can say for now, is that we are well on the way to completion, and hope to have our initial release out....soon.

Huawei recently announced new Ascend smartphone named G615.




It is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core HiSilicon K3V2 processor with 1 GIG of RAM and it has got 8GB on-board storage and also supports memory card . It runs Android 4.0 and the Jelly Bean update will be avaible later in march , regrading its screen it is a 4.5-inch 720p LCD display with a pixel density of 330ppi .

It has an 8MP rear-camera with which 1080p HD recording is possible and a front camera with 1.3MP with 720p recording . It also has 2150 mAh battery . It support 3G with 21Mbps HSPDA , Wi-Fi b/g/n and a Bluetooth version-3.0 . also includes Dolby Digital Plus audio tech .

LG Optimus G Pro as announced by NTT Docomo

We saw the LG Optimus G it's a great phone which broke the previous phone benchmark's and now Japanese carrier NTT Docomo announces LG Optimus PRO









It has got a battery of 3,000mAh and powered by 1.7GHz quad-core snapdragon pro processor and 2GIGS of RAM which makes Android 4.1 feel more smooth and 5-Inch 1080p display which gives 440ppi like all the new phones and a 13MP camera and all other are like old Optimus G .

Regrading the body it is bigger than it's old flagship phone Optimus G .It measures around 10mm and has a physical home key button.

Mozilla announced about it's upcoming mobile Firefox OS it showed demo on prototypes . It also said that the OS is about to complete with in 2 more weeks . We may see it in low end and will be restricted to single core processors at 800MHZ clock speed . The home screen displays you the bookmarks and apps with a similar kind of look as android and this is totally based on HTML-5

But it is difficult survive in this world which was flooded with android , ios and recently upcoming windows gadgets . But as a low end devices they may start their journey with a successful start let's hope so

Panasonic announced it's windows-8 20-inch 4K resolution tablet at CES 2013 .
Panasonic at to reveal the specs of the tablet but at that high resolution it will amazing to watch movies.

Windows 8 tails seem to look very small look at the image shown . we can't carry it because of it's huge 20-inch display and not handy as tablet but actually it's meant for photographers , graphic editors . It will be great for the editors to work on this 4K tablet they will be able to watch the images in a more detailed way and thus helping them to improve the image quality and reduce the errors and we may find lot more this kind of tablets in coming 2013

OLPC's announced a 7-inch android XO tablet for children.It will be soon for sale in Walmart.Like it's lappies this tablet can be charged either with normal charger or by hand crank and for 1 minute if you crank then it will give you ten minutes of charge (very helpful in case of tsunamis) It is powered by 1GHZ Marvell Armada chip and 512MB RAM and 4GIGS of internal memory and regarding display it is 7-inch multi-touch with a resolution of 1024x600 . These are surrounded by a rubber case which are bright green color.

OLPC's also said that the software layer is child friendly and helps them to learn about the tablet.Till no dates when it is going to release or how much it costs

Razer announced recently its tablet edge. It has a 10.1 inch screen with a resolution of 1366x768.
It has three separate peripherals (a keyboard,a stand and a case containing gaming controls).It is the most powerful tablet ever existing in two varients and normal version with Intel Core i5 processor and 4GB of RAM and a 64GB or 128GB ssd and the pro edition powered by Intel Core i7 and 8GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB ssd.Both has same Nvidia graphic card(GeForce GT 640M LE) which is a bit less powerful than the 640M .Razer also said that in will run Dishonored at 59 frames per second under default settings.
It looks a bit thick when compared to other windows tablets but it is the best out there with Nvidia graphic card.

Regrading the price the basic model costs around $999 and it may arrive in Q1 of 2013 and the gaming dock costs around $249 and the docking station $99 and the keyboard dock may come later in Q3 of the year 2013
